I just bought my train tickets on the SCNF French website. I was having trouble using my US Credit Card despite calling my credit card in advance to tell them about the purchase. My friend suggested trying his credit card to see if his bank was less strict and his US credit card work so I bought my tickets with that card and gave my friend cash. I have e-tickets which I can print for 2 of the 3 legs. However, the middle leg is from Lyon to Grenoble so instead of a reserved seat I believe I…

Hi, advice and ideas welcomed.
Planning to spend 2 weeks in a small village 20 km from Avignon around the football EURO cup. Apart from few matches we are having most of the time still free. This is a vacation with my extended family, 8 adults and 3 kids (7-12 years). As this is anyone's first time to that part of France what would be the 'must sees and must dos' without spending too much time on the road or feeling rushed? Smaller places and nature preferred to big cities. We are renting…

I will be in Paris this summer and am staying in a hotel near Gare du Nord train station. Can anyone recommend the best neighbourhoods or "Arr's" for nightlife closeby to Gare du Nord? Preferably within a 5-10 minute walk. Thanks.

Dear all

Is there anybody who knows weather a Eurail pass holder can use it to get on an autocar free?

I have seen autocar on Gare Lyon-part-dieu train timetable but I wonder can I use Eurail pass to get on instead of transferring 3 times to arrive at Chamonix.
P.S. I have written to Eurail but got no responds.

Much thanks to anyone who can inform me the massage.

Hi,

in may i will fly to the cote d'azur for 8 nights.
I will start in Marseille and fly back from nice. My plan is to stay 3 nights in Marseille and 3 nights in nice. I will use public transportation.

So i have 3 more nights to spend. Can you recommend another city between marseille and nice? Is it a good idea to stay one night in toulon and 1 night in feijus?

I speak a few words french and i had no problems last year in paris. But all i hear is that the french people can be very rude if you…

Avignon

spent the day in Avignon. Recommend the city for its amazing old buildings etc. worth effort to visit. but to do city justice one would require 2 or 3 days. lourdes/ carcasson pales in comparison even though both terrific to visit its just that Avignon offers a lot more to the tourist

Hi all,

I'll be in the south of France for a month in November for work purposes. I don't have to be anywhere in particular (I work remotely) and I'll be staying in an Airbnb. I've done some research, but I still can't decide whether to base myself in Nice, Antibes or Villefranche. Which would you pick?

I'll be working 5-6 hours per day, so mostly I need somewhere where there are lots of nice things to see within walking distance. Cafes to work in with a laptop would be good (but not essential…

In June, I'll have a departure from Terminal 2A at 07:25 and, as a result of that early departure and the need to check in for my flight early, I'm thinking of booking a room at the Ibis hotel at CDG which is, I think, located near Terminal 3.
I know that there's a service called CDG Val which connects terminals, but I've never used it.my question is how much time should I expect to spend getting from the Ibis to Terminal 2A? Is the distance walkable, or should I use CDG VAL?
