Hello! I will be going to France next spring with 4 women. Staring out with 5 days in Nice, ending with 3 days in Paris (which we've all vistied before.) We have 8 days in between and want to visit Provence and one of the wine countries. A tentative plan is below, with questions that I'm hoping some experienced travellers can give advice on!
- Nice 5 days
- Provence 3 days (Arles or Avignon or ??)
- 5 days in a wine country (????)
- 3 days Paris

All travel will be by train…

My husband and I are traveling to Nice in mid-November for 9 days and are looking for recommendations of where to stay, what to do, etc. We know that this is off season and that many hotels, restaurants and shops will be closed; however, we are looking forward to exploring as much as we can. We plan to get a car and explore the whole area (perhaps all the way to Aix). Would appreciate any thoughts on itinerary, activities, etc.

Thanks!

Rent a hybrid or road bike? (forwarding luggage twice)
Azay or Usse? (Have heard Azay... even if scaffolding?).
Anything missing below?
Other advice?

Sunday 4 Sept - arrive Chinon. Rent bike afternoon or Monday morning?
Monday - bike Chinon to Fontevraud (10mi) then to Breze (7mi) then to Saumur (or other) train station. Saumur (7.5mi) = 25 miles. Train to Tours
(mileage based on google maps, not locally-mapped bike paths)

Tuesday - bike Tours to Villandry 11mi and then to Azay or Usse (9 or…

Greetings fellow travelers! I just booked a roundtrip ticket to Paris for three weeks (Sept 14-Oct 5). I'm in the process of planning my itinerary and need some guidance. I'm in my early 40's, female, will be traveling alone, and will NOT be renting a car (this is non-negotiable). I've never seen France outside of a brief visit to Paris 15 years ago. I'd like to spend the first stretch of the trip in Paris (4-7 nights?) as well as the final night or two before flying home out of CDG.

To…

Hi, does anyone definitively know how Eiffel Tower tickets work? I've looked at ticket websites, including the official one, and travel guides and I get conflicting information.

We are arriving in Paris in a few days and, for my son, going up the Eiffel Tower is something he's really been looking forward to. I hadn't really thought that much about it, but when I looked today for online tickets to the summit of the Eiffel they are fully booked for over a month!!!

It seems I can pay double for a…

We are 3 adults reaching Paris for 5 days in Oct 3 and need advice to plan our vacation. Prefer to tour Paris city for a day and rest of days travel outside France to neighbouring places. Are there bus tours on a budget that will take us out of Paris. Any mid range hotels in Paris.
Look forward to hear from you

Please help me understand wine tasting in the countryside of Burgundy. Here in California visiting the winery is very informal. There is no reservation and the winery charges about US$8 for about 5 tastings the size of a shot glass. The duration is about 45 minutes. Afterward all of the wine tasted is available to purchase.

For example, the website of a wine cave near Beaune indicates 8 wines for 15 euro per person. Is that a full glass and will we be in danger driving an automobile…
