    Gilded misty memories, with sophistication of mind

    Though the Deux Garcons looms large in my memories of a triumphant trip through the Cote d'Azur and Provence, they are not as clear as I would wish. Tinged with the golden light of night time on the Rue de 4 Septembre and the beer in our glasses, the recollections are strong but ill-defined after twenty years.
