Lonely Planet review for Musée Ernest Hébert

Portrait painter Ernest Hébert (1817–1908) did likenesses of society people of the Second Empire and the belle époque and was therefore not short of a coin or two. The artist’s wonderful 18th-century townhouse and its baubles – not his saccharine, almost cloying portraits – is the draw here, though. The museum was closed for renovations at the time of research.
