    I Love My Blender

    As far removed from kitchenware as you can imagine, this bookshop run by a former advertising executive is stocked almost exclusively with books written in English, whatever the provenance. They’re available here in their original editions and in French translation.

    Situated midway between the Louvre and Palais Garnier, this totally renovated bookshop is the last survivor of the once ubiquitous US chain. It’s a good shop for tracking down American books, including fiction, business and children’s titles, as well as magazines.

    ‘On the Tip of the Tongue’ is Paris’ premier gay and lesbian bookshop. Most of the left-hand side of the shop on the ground floor is devoted to English-language books, including some guides and novels. If you’re feeling naughty, go downstairs.
