Lonely Planet review for Grand Appétit
Set back from Bastille in a small, quiet street, this place offers light fare such as miso soup and cereals plus strength-building bols garnis (bowls of rice and mixed vegetables) and assiettes (platters) for those with a grand appétit (big appetite). The menu features delicious, filling dishes served with 100% organic cereals, raw and cooked vegetables and seaweed.

A relaxed and convenient restaurant
eliza101 recommends this,
Finding a bite to eat is notoriously hard for vegetarians. And if you’re vegan? Well, it’s reputedly impossible. However, armed with the handy ‘Happy Cow’ list (Google search it) you can find some great places and Au Grand Appétit is up there with the best.
This little restaurant has wide range of vegan dishes, allowing plenty of room for personal tastes! Its convenient location (close to Place de la Bastille and Victor Hugo’s house) makes it a great place to stop during or after a day of sightseeing. If you arrive at the wrong time for lunch or dinner, you can still grignoter (snack) on a wide array of substantial food- soups, vegetable tarts, even dessert.
The relaxed atmosphere makes even the most bumbling of tourists feel at home- a nice change from some Parisian restaurants in which looks of disdain are quickly sent your way if you do not order the appropriate drink with your meal. Here, the friendly staffs are happy to explain exactly what each dish is in French or English. Free Japanese tea is also a bonus.
After a meal here, I left feeling utterly satisfied as the food was both very healthy AND delicious!
