This venerable establishment, which once satisfied the appetites of both market porters and theatre-goers with its onion soup and pieds de cochon (pig’s feet or trotters), has become more uniformly upmarket and touristy since Les Halles was moved to the suburbs, but it still opens round the clock seven days a week as it has since the end of WWII.

    Superb French Onion Soup

    joandory recommends this,

    Try the famous french onion soup! It tasted amazing and it came in decent size too! Love it love it love it.

    I continued on with the creme brulee for dessert. It was smooth ;-)

    My husband accidentally ordered the ears, nose and tails - but don't fear. You put enough bearnaise on them and it's fantastic. I'd recommend the more basic trotter.
