Cubana Café
Lonely Planet review for Cubana Café
This is the perfect place for cocktails and tapas shared among friends. A post-work crowd sinks into the comfy leather armchairs and flops beneath oil paintings of daily life in Cuba.

cosy place, shame about the service
caitlinherrity does not recommend this,
I came here with a few friends for some tapas on a rainy Saturday afternoon, although completely deserted, we were shouted at for sitting at a table close to the bar and shoved towards the more restaurant-y area by the rudest waitress I have ever met. She ignored us completely for at least 20 minutes, and walked off when we asked for tapas (they start serving at 6pm). We decided to order drinks, while waiting and ended up ordering main meals rather than a tapas platter, as we’d been waiting for over two hours, the waitress shouted at us for having changed our minds. When it arrived, my tuna steak and grilled vegetables were tasty, but lukewarm, overpriced and not very filling. . It was also difficult to manoeuvre as we were on a small table and no one had removed our tea cups from earlier. We were given a carafe of water with our meals when we asked for it, but there weren’t any glasses to drink it from. The moment we has finished eating the waitress popped up and told us we had to pay straight away as she was about to finish her shift. She didn’t clear away any of our plates. We also saw a rat run across the room, while dining, which did not remotely interest the waiter we informed. (It’s probably worth adding that we were a small group, and all speak good French. I shudder to imagine what it would have been like if we tried to order in English).
