Tour description provided by Viator

Spend an afternoon at the Montmartre summer fair, a perfect Parisian outing for the whole family. The Museum of Montmartre and Renoir Gardens open their doors for a summer-only fair that brings you back to the fun of the Belle Epoque with games, music, comedy, Cancan dancers, caricaturists, fortune-tellers, magicians and more. Adults will love the museum’s collection of masterpieces by famous Impressionist artists who once lived and worked here, including Auguste Renoir, Émile Bernard and Maurice Utrillo, and kids will love the games and entertainment in the gardens.

Bring the whole family to the Museum of Montmartre for the summer fair in the Renoir Gardens (Fête de Montmartre dans les Jardins Renoir), a unique festival that brings you back to the fun, lively and colorful times of France’s Belle Epoque.

You’ll be welcomed inside the museum, which was once the home and studio of some of the most famous Impressionist artists including Emile Bernard, Raoul Dufy, Suzanne Valadon, Maurice Utrillo and, mostly notably, Auguste Renoir, who painted his celebrated La Balançoire and Le Bal du Moulin de la Galette here in 1876. Today, the museum displays a unique collection of paintings, posters and drawings that recount the history of Montmartre and the Impressionist movement.

After moseying through the museum, head outside to the Renoir Gardens (Jardins Renoir), where the real fun awaits. Travel back in time to the days of the Belle Epoque and enjoy whimsical comedy, music and magic tricks from costumed entertainers. Admire French Cancan dancers in their fluffy dresses, have your picture drawn by a caricaturist, get your future revealed by a fortune-teller and play wooden games on the lawn.

This afternoon summer festival lasts five hours, and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like. Your ticket includes entrance to the museum and one attraction at the fair in the gardens (more tickets available for purchase).
