Fat Tire Bike Tours
Daytime bike tours of the city (€28; four hours) start at 11am daily from mid-February to early January, with an additional departure at 3pm from April to October. Night bicycle tours depart at 7pm from April to October and 6pm (not always daily) in low season. Other tours go to Versailles, Monet’s garden in Giverny and the Normandy beaches. Participants generally meet opposite the Eiffel Tower’s South Pillar at the start of the Champ de Mars; look for the yellow signs. Reserve in advance.

Vélib'
With this self-service bike scheme you can pick up a pearly-grey bike for peanuts from one roadside Vélib' station and drop it off at another. Its almost 1500 bike stations are accessible around the clock. iPhone users can download the Vélib' application. To get a bike, open a Vélib' account: one- and seven-day subscriptions can be done at any station with any credit card that has a microchip. If the station you want to return your bike to is full, swipe your card across the multilingual terminal to get 15 minutes for free to find another station.
