Lonely Planet review
Situated in the heart of the city, the homey and unpretentious Lépante is housed in a landmark 1915 belle époque building, with 27 air-conditioned rooms renovated in a palette of Provençal colours.
French-washed walls in shades like lavender, along with new carpet and charmingly patterned linens make the fresh, spacious rooms here a real treat. There's no lift, or parking (but you'll find it two-minutes' walk away), or online computer for guests, but there is free wi-fi for laptops. Six of the brand new bathrooms have bathtubs; and two rooms have pretty little balconies just big enough for a tiny table and chairs. Breakfast (a buffet) can be taken in the blond-wood dining room accentuated by an enormous mirror gracing one wall, but better yet is the adjoining table-lined garden terrace with navy blue market umbrellas. Rates drop to budget range in the low season.
