  1. Théâtre de la CHOUC'routerie

    In 1984 Roger Siffer, a singer, comedian, actor and producer known for his biting satire, set up this intimate theatre in a former sauerkraut factory. Performances are fun, experimental and trilingual (Alsatian, French and German). The theatre is a five-minute walk west of Porte de l'Hôpital tram stop, on the opposite side of the river to Grand Île.

    Comédie Française

    Founded in 1680 under Louis XIV, ‘The French Comedy’ theatre bases its repertoire around works of the classic French playwrights such as Molière, Racine and Corneille, though in recent years contemporary and even non-French works have been staged. There are three venues within the Comédie Française: Salle Richelieu, the main venue just west of the Palais Royal on place Colette; Studio Théâtre (Galerie du Carrousel du Louvre, 99 rue de Rivoli, 1e)) and the Théâtre du Vieux Colombier (21 rue du Vieux Colombier, 6e).
