Housed in an imperial arsenal building for heightened maritime effect, the Musée de la Marine gives a fascinating insight into Toulon's water-based endeavours. It exhibits some intricate scale models of old ships and historic paintings of the city. You can almost smell the salt and sweaty sailors.
