Paris Marais district

We visited The Marais district in Paris last fall and ran across a store that sold creative men's long sleeve shirts in the area just North West of the Place des Vosges. It was a street of multiple men's stores, one after the other. The shirts were imprinted with various animals, birds, etc., and may have been tuxedo shirts. We visit Unfortunately, we attempted to find this store the next day without success. Is anyone aware of the street or address of this store?

Paris Proposal Ideas...

Hi there.

I completely appreciate that marriage proposals are varied and not everyone would like the same kind of thing. My girlfriend and I love Paris and she has actually said to me that she would like me to propose in Paris...

Whilst she is a romantic person, she (and i) would prefer more of a private and secluded place where I could pop the question, though I appreciate that isn't exactly the easiest thing to find in Paris.

Does anyone have any recommendations (places or ideas) that I…

Driving to South of France in July

My fiance and I will be travelling from Beaune to Monaco on Wednesday, July 15th this year. I have head that the train is the best route as the roads are crowded in July, but the issue is that we need to rent a car once we arrive in Monaco, and I can't find a ticket that will get us there before all the rental places close, unless we're willing to wake at the crack of dawn which I would prefer not to do.

We will already have a rental car in Burgundy. Would it be easier to travel by car since…

Budget TGVs launch with €10 fare

"NEW low-cost TGV trains – with no first class section, no restaurant and limited luggage allowance - launch this month with adult tickets from €10 and children’s from €5 for a single.

Copying Ryanair’s use of out-of-town locations for its big city gateways, the SNCF’s new Ouigo service will head from Marne-la-Vallée (better known as the ReR stop for Disneyland Paris) to Marseille and Montpellier via Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport in a service that will undercut the market leader in low-cost air…

"THOUSANDS of well-wishers are expected to line the shores at La Rochelle this afternoon as the three-masted frigate Hermione leaves port for the Charente and Saturday’s departure across the Atlantic.

The Hermione is a full replica of the ship that took General Lafayette to America in 1780 to join the…

Car-hire location - Lyon

Hello again, I am looking at hotels in Vieux Lyon for most of my long weekend (4 nights) but, as per my last post just before this, I intend to hire a car for 24 hours to get out into the country - north to Beaujolais etc. Any suggestions on whether to hire a car from somewhere central in Lyon (I normally am nervous of driving out of a city centre and prefer to get straight onto a freeway/ motorway and onward in the direction I wish to travel, normally from the airport - I don't know how…

Ibis Hotel 5 km's outside Macon, Lyon area - to take in Beaujolais

Hello, I am now planning my long weekend in late May, flying into Lyon where I want to spend the major part of the weekend - but I do also want to hire a car for 24 hours and drive around the Beaujolais area. I have found Ibis to be ok travelling in the past and so am thinking of staying here as above, it's in Macon Sud - my question is: is this a good place to overnight or would anyone suggest a different part of the Beaujolais area, and if so any suggestions for any hotels, restaurants etc?

5 Days on the Tour du Mont Blanc

If you only had five days to hike various sections of the Tour Du Mont Blanc, which sections would you hike? Which are the most interesting and spectacular? We are very fit hikers willing to hike full days. We are OK with taking busses and lifts to bypass less scenic areas. We will be flying in and out of Geneva. We are also open to trying out some of the more strenuous atypical alpine variations if they permit less crowded areas in a scenic and interesting setting (i.e. Cabane d'Orny or Cabane…
