Halloween is not a traditional French holiday. The first formal celebration of Halloween, apart from parties in French language classes attended by Americans, was in 1982, when the American Dream bar/restaurant in Paris began celebrating Halloween. At first the bar staff had to explain the holiday to each customer.

Cannes – a Morning on the Cote d’Azur

Everyone knows about the city of Cannes on the French Cote d’Azur. It’s primarily known for its annual Film Festival which usually takes place in May. I knew that too but was still astonished to see the handprints of movie stars and musicians in front of the Festival’s theatre center.
