  5. Perouges, a Fortress Town, in Central France

    Perouges is a fortress town in Central France.  Just 25 miles from Lyon, this Middle Ages town still has its cobblestone streets, ancient buildings, and the town’s main square, Place du Tilleul, has a tree in its center planted during the French Revolution.
