Lonely Planet review
On a quiet stone lane in Vieux Lyon, La Tour Rose (The Pink Tower) is precisely what this exquisite boutique hotel is wrapped around. There are just a handful of heavenly suites to plump for - get in quick.
Three 16th- and 17th-century houses and a pink tower make up this elegant Renaissance ensemble, dressed by Lyon's most prestigious contemporary silk manufacturers from top to toe in the very best silks and other fabrics. Indeed, its dozen rooms are an ode to the city's vibrant silk industry. Polished wood panelling, original plafonds á la française (ultra-high, exposed-beam ceilings typical to Lyon) and decorative fireplaces add to the history of the place. Its restaurant, with cobblestone floor and glass roof in a former chapel, is an absolute must-dine.
Our independent authors have visited La Tour Rose and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Lyon.
