Lonely Planet review

Juselius Mausoleum, west of the centre, is the most poignant sight in Pori. FA Juselius, a wealthy businessman, had the mausoleum built as a memorial to his daughter who died of tuberculosis at the age of 11. The original frescoes were painted in 1898 by famous Finnish artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela (who had just lost his own daughter). The ones you see now were painted by Akseli's son, Jorma Gallen-Kallela, after his father's death.
