Kuusamo Sights

  1. Bjarmia

    There are quite a few craft shops and studios in Kuusamo, which means you can pick up some good buys. Bjarmia is a ceramics factory and studio right in the centre. There's a ceramics and textiles 'museum' here or you can just visit the shop and café.

  2. Kuusamon Uistin

    Kuusamon Uistin, north of the centre on main road 5 to Ruka, sells beautifully crafted fishing lures and sheath knives from its factory. Some of these products are exported throughout the world under the brand name Kuusamo.

  3. Kuusamotalo

    On the other side of the bus terminal, Kuusamotalo is a concert hall and cultural centre - the pride of Kuusamo. Check with the tourist office or call direct for coming performances and exhibitions. The building is a sleek, elegant, Finnish creation designed by Arto Sipinen.
