Getting there & away
The Kemi/Tornio airport is 6km north of town, and there are regular flights from Helsinki. A trip in a taxi will cost €10 from Kemi, or €12 from Tornio.
Half-hourly buses from Tornio (less at weekends) will take you to Kemi train station (€5 free with a train pass, 30 to 40 minutes). There are also some departures to Muonio to the north and Oulu to the south.
There are trains from Helsinki (€67, nine hours), Oulu (€14.60, 1¼ hours) and Rovaniemi (€15.70, 1½ hours)
