Hietalahti Flea Market
Finland is somewhat of a haven for haberdashery and odds and ends. This is the main second-hand centre in Helsinki: you'll find anything from used clothes to broken accordions. There is also a renovated kauppahalli (market hall) here that serves delicious food but is not as touristy as the main one.

Myymälä2
This artsy jumble of a shop was set up to accompany and support the Myymälä2 gallery. The gallery provides a space for young designers, artists and musicians to present projects that would not otherwise be seen. Likewise, the shop sells clothing, comics, magazines and jewellery by those yet to establish their name. This may be the cutting edge of Finnish culture, so stay sharp.
