This plush place right in the heart of the Old Town combines modern luxury and heritage feel. Rooms named for former residents are tastefully decorated with three 2nd-floor rooms boasting their own minisaunas and views over the courtyard.
Far from the Old Town, this historic wooden house holds a well-kept hostel in a grassy garden. It caters for groups so you’ll need to book ahead to ensure a spot and linen is extra, so be prepared.
On the western side of the river this well-equipped camping ground is just 2km south of Porvoo amid greenery. There are family-focused facilities such as saunas, bikes and a playground.
Right opposite the cathedral, this gold-coloured wooden building couldn’t be better placed. There’s a real range here, from the four-poster bed and slick design of the Funk to the rustic single Peasant.
This central guesthouse is run by a cheerful Finn and offers a variety of rooms with shared bathroom and access to kitchens. The rooms in the basement are spacious but a little dark; those upstairs are a better bet.
