Lonely Planet review
If Helsinki is the daughter of the Baltic then this grand hotel is her most dashing suitor. It romances with a stately marble lobby that seduces you back to historic rooms furnished with antiques and then surprises in the marble bathrooms with their trademark rubber duck. In Finland’s past the hotel has hosted Sibelius and Gallen-Kallela, along with the underground Kagaali movement during the Finnish Civil War. They probably came for the saunas (there are three including a eucalyptus inhalation), the plush day spa or the award-winning Japanese restaurant.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Kamp and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Helsinki.
