Hi there, My family - wife and 10yo and 9 yo are going to Fiji in March, we are staying at a resort on the Coral Coast for a week but also have a couple of extra days where we may go to an island if it is easy enough. On our list of things to do my wife wants to swim with turtles and visit a local village, I want to walk on hot coals and the kids want to snorkel all day. Also, we want to get a traditional Fijian style tattoo. If you have any ideas or tips, I'd really appreciate any help.
Myself and another friend (both 21/22 year old girls) are hoping to travel to Fiji in November for 7-10 days. However we are totally overwhelmed with info and cannot decide where we should visit/where would best suit our needs.
We are looking to possibly island hop a bit, and travel and sleep as inexpensively as we can (fine staying in dorms etc). We are looking for relaxing places, beautiful beaches and water, and also places that can show us a bit of real Fijian culture!
Any advice would be…
While booking Car Rental in Fiji, stay alert from Local Car rentals - and Do Not Book 'True Blue Car Rental'. They'll offer cheaper rates than the standard car hire agencies but they'll cost you much more in the end. They also do unauthorized transactions on your Credit Card and dupe you of 100's of $. You've to give Credit Card details while hiring car.
When we hired the car, it already had scratches but we did not take photos - which turned out to be our mistake. While returning the car…
Hey! I served in the U.S Peace Corps in Fiji for two years. I have also returned the last two summers for some solo travel. This may sound a bit crazy but I highly doubt there is anyone in the U.S that knows more about traveling in Fiji than me. Ask away! I love talking about Fiji! I also speak Fijian! Not fluently but enough to get around no doubt....
I guess there will be a new South Pacific lonely planet guide book coming out dec 2016. I am hoping for a vast long term trip of the islands this winter....would that be about the best book for a guide? Thanks
my family and i are planning 10 days relaxing in Fiji as well as exploring around Nadi, i was just wondering how expensive is Fiji? and is it as beautiful as photos show? ive been looking at flights and the prices are quite reasonable as well as resorts and we are getting extremely close to booking :)
I am off to Fiji next year for 3 weeks and am in the throws of planning my trip
I am 40 and will be travelling alone with a backpack.
Am looking for a couple of places in Fiji to spend some time, somewhere that is quiet and peaceful and where I can enjoy a true Fijian experience. Somewhere with beautiful beaches and not too pricey.
Any advice would be great
I see people asking about which islands to visit all the time and have spend days trying to find this info out myself! Just wanted to give a bit of guidance on which islands are best to visit and why. Check out this post - it gives an overview of which islands I liked the most and what kind of 'travel style' they suit.
Looking for a like-minded travel companion for all or part of my journey around Fiji for five weeks this summer. I'm a middle-aged, independent, energetic, and enthusiastic woman, non-smoker, with many cultural interests. English is my native language but speak fluent French and a bit of Dutch (and a tiny bit of Russian). I plan to do lots of scuba diving and snorkelling, however would also like to do sightseeing, get to know the local people and traditions, walk in nature, etc. I don't mind…
