Sailboat charter in Fiji. Experiences?

Hi!

We are 3 or 4 couples, thus 6 or 8 people, who will be heading to Fiji in September 2015. Our dream is to get onboard a catamaran sailboat and head out for the islands for 7-10 days doing snorkeling, scuba diving etc etc...

Have anyone in here done something similar? Sailed through the Fiji islands?

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated, how much we should expect to be paying and islands to visit.

Thx.

Best Snorkelling in Fiji with Kids Activites

We are a couple looking for excellent snorkelling (we are seasoned snorkelers) in Fiji with also kids activities, or kids club for a 5 year old. This will be our third time to Fiji, having been to Blue Lagoon Resort, Botaira and Paradise Resort before. A nanny would be fine also, but we need to go to a place where there are other kids around, as we'll be travelling during term time. Most important thing we are looking for is good snorkelling, though, as we have an only child, kids clubs or…

Spending money for Fiji

Hi,

I am travelling to Fiji for two weeks at the end of March from New Zealand and before I go over to Aus. I've currently paid for accommodation and two meals a day included on a 14 day island hop boat trip but I was just wondering how much spending money would be best to take for two weeks? I'm trying to work out budget plans for what I will need where, any advice welcome! We are hoping to do a couple excursions to make the most out of the islands! At the moment it is 1 British Pound to 3.05…

Pipedream trip to Lau group

Hello all,

I'm trying to plan an excursion to the Lau group for myself and a friend, and need a LOT of advice. Answering any of the following questions is much appreciated.

First, I'm finding very mixed results about when a visa is necessary. Looks like touring without visa is okay for US citizens for up to four months? Yet I've also read that without visa, you're restricted to two weeks. Any clarification possible?

Second, I know travel to Lau is limited to expensive and rare flights and…

Denarau to the Yasawa's

Hi all

Been a while since I was on thorntree... wherever did the faq go?

In a couple of weeks me and a friend are going to Fiji, at one point we will be catching the ferry out to Waya island in the Yasawa's. When I was there a few years back, they tried hard to push the 'Bula pass' on you, but if you did not plan to island hop it was better to just get a one way, or a return to the island you were going to.

Can anyone tell me if it is still the same? I think the return ticket was only valid…

5 hour layover in Nadi

I had read in this forum a while back that there was a hotel across the road from the Nadi airport that would allow travelers to take have a swim and shower for small fee. I've got a 5-hour layover, which doesn't give me much time to see Fiji, but a relaxing swim sounds nice. Anyone know if this is still an option to kill a few hours between flights and at least leave the airport?

Help! Couple backpacking Fiji 14 days

Hi there,

We are a young couple from the UK heading to Fiji 31st January to 14th February. As we are heading to Fiji as part of a RTW trip, we are looking for cheap accommodation however would like to share a private room rather than use dorms etc.

Can anyone help recommend a rough itinerary for us e.g. how much time to spend in Nadi, and which islands to visit? We are looking to find out a bit about Fji and its culture, people but of course spend time relaxing on the beach, watersports etc.

Aquarius on the Beach Club Fiji Resort

Hi there.....Can anyone give some firsthand information as to the pros/cons of Aquarius on the Beach and Club Fiji? I've been asked to find budget accommodation, around $100 per night, for my uncle and aunt, in their early 50's. They are quite active, but would of course enjoy some relaxing time too. I had also look at Anchorage Resort, but this seems a little out of the way. Also, what is in Nadi town? Is it worthwhile telling them to spend an afternoon there browsing around? A travel agent…
