The grand dame of Suva's hotels may not be the starlet she once was, but she's still snazzy enough to turn heads and a touch of the industrial botox here and there has preserved her standing in Suva's top three billing.

She knows how to work her best features too and her waterfront location is comely enough to make any tourist weak at the knees. The seafood restaurant, which is planted firmly in front of the dazzling harbour views, is something of a tourist attraction in itself, pulling Suva locals and other tourists in for lunch and dinner on a daily basis. The accommodating rooms here have a touch of the flashy airport lobby about them, but they're appealing enough and come with all the facilities of a top-end hotel so no one's really complaining. Be prepared to share though; there are 110 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom rooms here and most can lodge up to four guests, which they frequently do. Raffles is also frequently used as a conference centre.
