Getting there & around

For flights head to the office of Air Fiji (881 1188; Nasekula Rd) or Sun Air (881 1454; Northern Travel Service office). The airport is about 11km southwest of Labasa; catch the Waiqele bus (55c, four times daily Monday to Saturday, as per flight schedule on Sunday). A taxi from Labasa costs F$8.

There are regular buses between Labasa and Savusavu (F$6, five times daily between 7am and 4.15pm, four on Sunday). A 9am bus takes the scenic route (F$11.50, six hours) to Savusavu along Natewa Bay. Buses to Nabouwalu depart three times daily (F$8, Monday to Saturday).

Taxis are plentiful, with the main stand near the bus station. Budget Rent a Car (881 1999; Vakamaisuasua) is south of town.
