Air Fiji (331 3666; www.airfiji.com.fj; 185 Victoria Pde, Suva) flies between Suva and Vanua Balavu on Thursday and Sunday (F$195). Saliabasaga Shipping (330 3403; Walu Bay, Suva) has fortnightly trips to islands in the Lau Group aboard the MV Tunatuki, a cargo/passenger boat. One-way fares to Vanua Balavu are F$90/120 per person for a deck/cabin including meals. Expect to spend about a week on board.
Kabua Development Corporation (330 2258; fax 332 0251; Muaiwalu Complex, Old Millers Wharf, Rona St, Walu Bay, Suva) and Khans Shipping(/fax 330 8786; Mauiwalu Complex, Rona St, Walu Bay, Suva) operate infrequent boats to the Southern Lau Group.
Yachties wishing to visit Lau need to clear customs and immigration first, and then apply for permission from the Ministry for Fijian Affairs.
