Hi there,

I'm hoping to travel to Faroe Islands end of August/ beginning of September and I'm hoping to find people who may be able to host me as a couch surfer, happy to pay just other accommodation is quite expensive but have considered camping if all else fails!

Any recommendations or friends of friends of friends etc would be most welcome!

The north in July

Hi there fellow travellers! We will be travelling from Denmark to Iceland via the Faroe Islands by ferry this July, and were wondering if anyone has done the same and if so, can tell us more about the weather conditions etc. We've been reading a lot about rough seas, though those messages seem to refer to the winter rather than summer. Also, if anyone can shed more light on the lenght of the nights (see what I did there) that'd be much appreciated. We read 6 hours, but also 2. Thank you!

Gas cartridge

Hello travelers.
I have a one question. Is possible to buy in Faroes gas cartridge? if yes, I suppose that this possibility is only in Torshavn.
Please and thank you for every advice and reply.

Martin.

My wife (63 years of age) and I (67 years of age) along with our sons (29 and 31 years of age) will be taking a trip to the Faroe Islands in August; probably spending about 8 or 9 days. We will probably rent a car unless someone suggests otherwise. I'll have many questions and hope someone can help us, but I'll start with some hiking routes. I've looked at 22 suggested hikes in the "Faroe Hiking Guide", but since we're limited in time I was wondering if you might recommend your top 5 hikes on…

Hey everyone! How are you?
I am planning a trip to Faroe Islands in march. We like travel on budget, really lowcost. I know in Faroes this way is not so possibble but if you have any recommendations let me know. We will take our own tent and rent a car if bad weather. Is allowed to make our own tent anywhere in wildlife? What about weather in the end of March and beginning of April?
Thank you for every advice.

I'm new to this forum, so hello everyone!

So I have three weeks off of work in January and I was trying to come up with ideas of where to go. Initially, without thinking of the weather, I thought it'd be interesting to do a trip that involved the Faroe Islands. When I take the weather and shortened daylight into account, I wonder if it is worth the trip... it may be, but I really don't know.

I figure that during the winter, the northern lights will be an option. The idea of snow and actual…

Hi,
We are a family with 3 children thinking to visit the islands August 2017. The children will be 10, 7 and 1.5. What is a suitable amount of days would we need to see the islands properly? We love nature and hiking. Are there day walks we can do with the kids? We had traveled to iceland so we are not afraid of walking in rainy weather. Are there any "atractions" suitable for kids? We will appreciate any information you can spare.
Thanx
Sharon

I'll be getting into the islands the afternoon of Oct. 3 leaving the evening of Oct. 6 and my base camp will be a hostel in Torshavn. I was trying to avoid renting a car but looking over the forums it might be necessary to see as much as possible in the short time I'll be there. Does anyone know if there are scooter and/or bike rentals on the islands or is it just cars?
Also, I'm a 31 year old female and would love to meet a new travel buddy and potentially split the cost of a rental if anyone…

Hi! I did a quick search but looks like most people travel to FI before Sept. So my questions is has anyone visited early November? How was it?

I know the weather will be hit or miss but I'm ok with that. Even if the weather was slightly bad, would you be able to do some of the hiking? I assume if it snows, the hiking trails would be too dangerous.

Looking for a travel buddy if anyone is going there Nov 3-8.

Thanks!
