I'll be in Medellin for four nights and Bogota for three nights (two full days as we arrive in the evening and leave first thing in the morning) in January. I'm dying to see Barichara. Is it worth taking a bus there from either Medellin or Bogota for just one night? I'm trying to find info online but no luck so far. Thanks!
My girlfriend and I had a lovely summer trip to Norway in 2013. We especially enjoyed hiking from hut to hut on well-marked paths.
Now we wonder if a similar "system" is to be found in the Faroe Islands? Any recommendations of places to start or where to find additional information similar to the Norwegian Tourist Association (DNT)?
Thanks for your help,
After some (online) research, I’m now planning our first trip to the Faroe Islands (Yes!!). Hopefully, you will leave some comments.
We will arrive 23 July and leave 6 August by airplane. We have already booked a car and made reservations for B&B’s, youth hostels and other accommodation. Our interests are: hiking, photography and birds. I am aware of the unstable weather, so will pack our rain-wear, sun protection and knitted hats. : )

Hey. Looking to head over there from Iceland or London next year summer, for a week or so. Im a solo-travelling student so im looking to minimise costs. I intend to either camp or stay in hostels, and travel via bus. Will be spending most of my time hiking or just wandering around I suppose.
Any idea how much I should be spending per day?
Camping = 50kr or so
Hostel = 250kr or so
Bus travel card = 400kr for 4 days
Self-catering = ? No idea how much supermarket food costs in the Faroes
I am planning to take the ferry to Iceland in early June and breaking for two days on the Faroe Islands. I will take a car but it will be a standard car, no camper van. I also want to take a tent, so what are the options than?
Do camping grounds at FO also have chalets like they have in Sweden and Norway? What other budget options (lets say up to 50EUR per night for a double) are available?
Since the Norrona ferry may drop quite some people on the FO on their way to Iceland, will these places…
I'm planning a trip to the Faroe Islands and Iceland with a friend. We're currently planning to fly from London on Thursday 18 July, go to G! Festival (18-20 July) and take the ferry to Iceland on Wednesday 24 July. To avoid taking a tent, or hiring one as soon as we arrive, we were thinking of staying in a hostel/hotel or renting a flat on Eysturoy and driving to the festival each day.
So, if anyone else is going, we might be willing to split the cost of the car hire and potentially renting a…
