Itinerary

Days 1-2 Berlin

Travel to Germany and visit Berlin, a city that enjoys an international reputation for its edgy arts scene and lively nightlife. In free time, get acquainted with Berlin - take a stroll through the Tiergarten, admire the stately Reichstag or pay a visit to Checkpoint Charlie.

Days 3-4 Krakow

Discover Krakow's magnificent medieval town square, teeming with historical sights. Visit Wawel Castle, explore the bizarre chambers of the Wieliczka Salt Mines or perhaps make a sombre pilgrimage to Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Days 5-6 Prague

Explore the plethora of architectural and artistic delights in Prague. Cross the Charles Bridge, roam the castle complex or settle down with a refreshing Czech beer in a cosy bar.

Day 7 Cesky Krumlov

Visit bohemian and quaint Cesky Krumlov, which has an almost indefinable magic. Walk the cobbled alleyways, cycle through the hills in the surrounding countryside or explore the fairytale Krumlov Castle - be sure to climb the tower for sublime views over this picture-perfect medieval town.

Days 8-9 Vienna

Discover art in museums, history at the Hofburg Palace and cakes galore in Vienna's divine coffee shops. Make time to climb to the top of Gothic St Stephen's and be rewarded with panoramas of the city below.

Days 10-11 Budapest

Experience romantic and cosmopolitan, Budapest - the 'Pearl of the Danube' - which offers wonderful daytime diversions and a great nightlife. Take it all in on a boat ride along the famous river or cross the Chain Bridge to discover the treasures of both Buda and Pest.

Days 12-13 Bled

Marvel at the amount of outdoor activities on offer in Bled, a beautiful lakeside town with an adventurous heart. Raft, cycle, boat or simply kick back and relax.

Days 14-16 Venice

Travel to Italy and marvel at Venice, a city built on 117 islands. Stroll across bridges, shop for local arts and crafts and don't miss the chance for a gondola ride through this city's enchanting canals - an essential experience.

Days 17-18 Cinque Terre

Travel to the Cinque Terre and inhale the fresh sea air. Take in glorious vistas while walking the coastal path that links the five pastel-hued towns, past olive groves and citrus orchards scattered on the steep hillside above the sea. Explore rustic Italian villages and cool off with a dip in the Mediterranean. Be sure to make the most of local produce and feast on Ligurian seafood as the sun sets over the dramatic landscape. Retire to the fishing village of Monterosso and enjoy the relaxed Cinque Terre atmosphere.

Days 19-20 Florence

Explore from the corridors of the Uffizi Gallery to the open spaces of the Piazza della Signoria, and discover the litany of great works that make Florence one of the foremost art cities in the world.

Days 21-22 Rome

Grab a gelato and take to the streets to explore Italy's mesmerising capital. Visit the Colosseum, recharge with a slice of pizza and a strong espresso at Rome's Piazza Navona, or throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain and make a wish to return to the 'Eternal City'.
