Spanish, International restaurants in Europe

    Nunc est Bibendum

Nunc est Bibendum combines a classy, clean-lined look with a varied menu that defies categorisation – sometimes it’s a Basque base, other flavours come from the south or from France – but is always good. The wine list is thoughtfully chosen, with some lesser-known Spanish wines.

    Con Dos Fogones

Con Dos Fogones is cool and classy, with bright colours softly lit by designer lamps. The food is everything from salads and hamburgers to great slabs of Argentine beef with plenty of unexpected twists, like brie tempura or cod pâté. The word on the street is that quality has recently taken a downward turn, but we reckon they're still worth a look.

    días desur

The white brick walls, black-and-white photos and space to sit and converse augur something out of the ordinary, and the tapas meet that challenge with their mix of Cantabrian, Andalusian and international flavours. Try a mini chicken tikka masala brochette or an Ivory Coast spicy lamb roll, along with one of the lyrically described wines. The upper level has a restaurant with similarly inventive dishes and a tempting €13 set lunch.

    A Dos Velas

We’re fans of this place where the food is creative with Mediterranean cooking fused with occasional Indian or even Argentine flavours, a lovely dining area with soft lighting and exposed brick, and service that’s attentive without being intrusive.
