A
Shemoikhede Genatsvale
Neat, modern, less atmospheric, excellent Georgian food and efficient service. Easily identified by the Pirosmani painting on the street frontage of a dog and three men eating.

Annyushka
Actually a tram car that circles the Chistye Prudy. Patrons can get on at several stops along the way, the easiest being at the island at the intersection of Chistoprudny bulvar and Myasnitskaya ulitsa. Food is simple - obviously, they prepare it on a streetcar - but the bar is fully stocked. It's a fun concept, but karaoke is uncalled-for in such close quarters.

C
Georgian Iberian Restaurant
There isn’t much going on in this part of town but this restaurant alone justifies the 10 minutes’ walk from Islington. Georgian food is infused with flavours from neighbouring Russia (smoked ingredients, beans, walnuts, cabbage, dill) and the Middle East (mezes, flatbread and lots of spices). The food is divine and service is the friendliest you’ll find in North London.

Stolle - City Centre
This is one of St Petersburg's coolest places to come for coffee, although you'd be a fool to leave without sampling one of its magnificent pirogi (pies). In fact, the entire menu is excellent, but the pies are irresistible. A 'stolle' is a traditional Saxon Christmas cake: the selection of sweets and savouries sits on the counter, fresh from the oven. It may be difficult to decide (mushroom or meat; apricot or apple?) but you really can't go wrong.
This outlet on Konyushennaya pl is one of the city's largest, with a separate nonsmoking room.
