Beach Bar entertainment in Europe

  1. A

    Halvandet

We can’t guarantee this groovy urban beach/lounge bar will be open in ’08, but it has drawn a chilled-out party crowd to this rather remote part of town since ’03 every summer. You’ll find it a little beyond the Opera House, out in the old docklands (Holmen). The food is rudimentary grills and salads, but the vibe and the music are unbeatable, especially if the weather is cooperative.

  2. Mellow Beach Club

With design by the Barcelona fashion kings Custo, this cool beach bar, with sun lounges and adjacent indoor eatery, is perfect for slipping into the balmy night. Club sounds waft from the pink bar out over the sand and water. Seemingly crouched below the glass tower of the W Barcelona hotel, it attracts a host of beautiful people.

  3. B

    Strandgut Berlin

Drink a toast to Berlin at this chic riverside beach bar where the beer is cold, the cocktails strong, the crowd grown-up and the DJs tops.

  4. C

    Oststrand

Drag your flip-flops to this funky beach paradise along the East Side Gallery and enjoy cocktails while wiggling your toes in the sand or relaxing beneath colourful party lights on an old barge. Tanning and chilling in the daytime, party at night.

  5. Bora Bora Beach Club

At Platja d'en Bossa, about 2km from the old town, this is the place – a long beachside bar where sun and fun worshippers work off hangovers and prepare new ones. Entry's free and the ambience is chilled, with low-key club sounds wafting over the sand. From midnight, everyone crowds inside. It's off Carrer del Fumarell.

  6. Watering Hole

Perran's old warhorse of a beach bar makes a great spot for a sundowner, with tables spilling right onto the sand and local bands playing into the night on weekends during summer.
