    Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix

    Reintroduced in 1986 after a hiatus of half a century, the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix is part of the World Championship Series that takes place at the Hungaroring at Mogyoród, northeast of Budapest, in August. Practice is on the Friday, the qualifying warm-up on Saturday and the race begins after morning practice on Sunday. The only seats with views of the starting grid are Super Gold ones; cheaper are Gold, which are near the pit lane, and Silver tickets. Standing room is also available.

    Chepstow Racecourse

    Chepstow Racecourse, set in rolling parkland alongside the River Wye just north of the town centre, is one of Britain's most famous horse-racing venues and home to Wales' most prestigious race meeting, the Welsh National on 27 December.

    In the western suburb of Agios Dometios, this club caters for keen horse punters. Meets are normally held on Wednesdays and Sundays in winter and Wednesdays and Saturdays in summer.

    Every second weekend in August the Dingle Races bring crowds from far and wide. The racetrack is 1.6km east of town on the N86.
