Hello,

My partner and I would like to travel from Lalibela to Gonder on 15 Feb making a stop-over in Awra Amba on the way (potentially even stay over night). A few days later we want to travel from Debark to Aksum on 20 Feb.

I got quoted $165 for each of these trips so was wondering:
1) is it possible to do them by public transport? I think we can get a bus to drop us off near Awra Amba but will there be one to pick us up to continue to Gonder later in the day or the next morning?
2) Is it…

Hi all! We are travelling to Cape Town from London on March 18/19 & the cheapest option is with Eyhiopian via Addis so we thought - why not stopover for three days! but is it worth it? Is there enough to to do and can we do a day or two day trip to see the edge of the Rift Valley? If so, which companies are the best? We'd be grateful for any info or advice - thank you!

J :)

During my 8 days in Omo Valley I met the most generous and expressive people I've ever come into contact with. There are many suggestions on Thorn Tree for guides and organizers, and I met a great deal of them during my stay here, so I'm here to throw my vote Gino's way. Gino is extremely kind, a great communicator, fully fluent in English and a handful of the many local languages including Hamer, Mursi, and his mother tongue Dasenich, he pays attention to detail, and is superbly thorough in his…

Hi there!

From the end of March to mid April I will be traveling to Ethiopia and I would like to visit the Danakil Depression around the 7th of April. I have spoken to a few agencies and I might be able to join one, though communication has not been too great over the past days. Hopefully they'll pull through, though I was just wondering if anyone had a tour planned around this date that I could potentially join? Or could advise on a good agency (other than ETT)?

Thank you!

Hi to the Forum,

I am planning to visit Ethiopia from 16th to 30th April. That gives me a full 15 days in the country. Whoop! Whoop!
Would be great to hear back from you as to wether the "perfect itinerary" below is feasible in 15 days or not. If it is, how much would need to be done by plane and how much can/should be done by car/ public transport.
Would be great to have a rough idea of how long does it take to travel from place to place.

Addis Ababa
Bahir Dar (Lake Tana and the Blue Nile…
