I am a college students looking travel to Ethiopia in the coming Nov. I am looking for some information about hotels and tour guides for 15 days itinerary & etc.I would like to see some beautiful Landscapes, Churches,Tribes since i am a budget travelers i would be really happy if you send me or give me some information about budget and accommodations and i would be really happy if you want to join me.
So I am a budget traveller with a few months for Ethiopia.. I do long bus rides, but the occasional flight might be back saving..
I will be flying from Cairo.. My choices are either ~144 $ on another airline or 244$ with Ethiopia. So 100$ difference.
Is there a flat discount rate, say 30%, on domestic, if I fly ethiopia on internationally. ?.. Just by giving my ticketnumber as I have read.
Is it a guaranteed discount or limited seats available. Does it work last minute as I won't have time…
Me and my wife (late 20s) are looking at heading to Ethiopia in late October. Wife is a teacher here in the UK and so we can only haveone week off - so would be arriving into Addis Ababa at 6am Saturday and leaving 7 days later at 00:15am Sunday or something.
We know from experience that this isn't long enough to do much (and have read the first ten pages of threads on TT) but are keen to visit somewhere a bit different this autumn, so are looking to see if Ethiopia could work.
I'm passing through Ethiopia in mid-November for 5 full days. I would love to do some multi-day trekking, primarily in a jungle / dense forest setting, with camping possibilities. It should preferably be accessible by car/4x4 and not too far from Addis (but plane is also an option if it's not too complicated). It's a big bonus if there is good lodge in the vicinity. I'm mostly into bird watching, wildlife; doesn't have to be overly physically demanding trek although some elevation is nice…
I spect arriving to Ethiopia next Saturday. I have read the Bradt guide book and I think I have all I need for this travel except a BIG QUESTION. I am trying to do the Simiens (three or four nights) by myself with my wife. I have read that it is possible but a little hard. I spect going from Gondar to Debark in the first bus in the morning and spend the rest of the day organizing the trip and, hopefully, leaving to Simien next morning. Is it possible organize all this in half day?. Is…
I'll be going to Ethiopia in November - Early Dec. for three weeks, aiming to do the Northern Circuit + Harar and possibly Dire Dawa / Laga Oda. I have the Bradt guide which has been great in preemptively answering my questions, but there are still some things I'm a little unclear on:
Can domestic flights be booked a day or two in advance of the flight? Or will all the seats be full and/or it will be ridiculously expensive? My concern is I won't know until I get there…
I am going to Ethiopia January 2018 and I have read that you can do a river rafting trip in Omo River from Addis to Omo Valley for 14 or 21 days. I have also read that the season is September to December. Does anyone know if it is possible to do this rafting trip in January? And has anyone done the tour?
Could anyone please elaborate on what the expected tipping rate is in Ethiopia and who expects to be tipped. We will be mainly trekking and from what I read a tip will be expected from the guide and all other assistants on the treks. Also, for service in restaurants, shops etc? Are tips expected in these instances? Coming from a country where tipping is not the norm I need some help. Thanks.
Hello! Me and my hubby go to Ethiopia and we want to share car expenses (we need two more people). The main focus is the Northern loop, we want to stop at Lalibela, Epiphany, Axum. We'd like to hike for a week in Simien Mountains Before the Northern loop we can go to Omo valley, if it is on your list. Please, contact me, if you are interested, to discuss the route. Here are our FB https://www.facebook.com/kate.shady.11 and https://www.facebook.com/max.zhuma?pnref=story. The exact date are…
I am a bit confused about what is needed to get a discounted domestic flight on Ethiopian Airlines. I understand you can get it only if you fly into ADD via Ethiopian Airlines, but I believe a codeshare with a third party airline is also acceptable and you can get the discount.
So, lets say I fly from the USA to Cairo to ADD and the Cairo-ADD leg on Egyptair. Will this enable me to get the discounted tickets for domestic flights?
