There are shops that are a great way to support the city's hard-working less fortunate. At Alert Handicraft Shop, the Berhan Taye Leprosy Disabled Persons Work Group produce and sell beautiful items emblazoned with vibrant embroidery.

    ok, but not as unique as Beza Entoto Outreach Jewelry

    If you like handicrafts with a great cause, Alert is good, but even better is the Beza Entoto Workshop in Sidist Kilo. They make jewelry out of coffee beans as well as other jewelry from traditional beads. The artisans are women living with HIV. Their work is gorgeous. The workshop is up the hill from Sidist Kilo University. Turn right at the Ethiopian Cultural Center then head down the paved road. Stay to the right until you see an elementary school on the left and Beza's Entoto's black and white gate on your right.
