Lonely Planet review for Vanaema Juures
Vanaema Juures (Grandma's Place) was one of Tallinn's most stylish restaurants in the 1930s and still ranks as a top choice for Estonian fare. The antique-set dining room is slightly formal and the menu, whilst specialising in authentic dishes such as pigs' trotters, has plenty of options (even for vegetarians).

Absolutely wonderful food and service.
bhienrich recommends this,
This is a small gem in Tallinn. It was recommended to us and it COMPLETELY exceeded our expectations. I went with my husband and parents and we were all floored. The creamed herring was amazing.. My mom had the salmon and she said it was the best she has ever had. My husband had their vanilla ice cream (it came with something else) and it was probably the best ice cream I have ever eaten. I had the traditional desert and it was wonderful but it is bitter, it is not a usual flavor for the American pallet but if you dare to have it you will not be disappointed. I could go on and on about "Grandma's Place" (Vanaema Juures in Estonian). Oh! And the service was wonderful! Such wonderfully nice people. I hope you go and enjoy!
