Lonely Planet review for St John's Church
North of the university, on the continuation of Ülikooli, stands the magnificent St John's Church. This brick church dates back to at least 1323, and is unique for its rare terracotta sculptures in niches around the main portal. It lay in ruins following the Soviet bombing raid in 1944. Today it is once again open - after 16 years of renovation.

Gothic brick architecture, very beautiful!
wyleyone recommends this,
This is a church located near the Old Town Square in Tartu. The price to go into the church is free, but if you want to go to the top of the tower it is 1.60€. Lots of the structure has been redone, so to see the inside is worth the trip. Very beautiful, but the 1€ to take pictures inside is a bit steep.
