Estonia’s medieval charm is no longer a state secret, so be sure to book well in advance in summer. Prices rise considerably in high season (peaking in July and August) and, irrespective of budget category, it can be extremely difficult to find a bed on the weekend without a couple of weeks’ notice. Estonia has a good range of accommodation to suit every budget. Most of it is congregated in the the capital city, Tallinn, and its immediate surrounds, where even backpackers might find themselves waking up in an atmospheric historic building. If you’re travelling with a car, you’re more likely to find free parking a little further out.
