Lonely Planet review for Salt's Mill
Saltaire, a Victorian-era landmark and UNESCO World Heritage site, was an industrial village purpose-built in 1851 by philanthropic wool baron and teetotaller Titus Salt. The village's factory is now Salts Mill, a splendidly bright and airy cathedral-like building where the main draw is a permanent exhibition of work by Bradford-born artist David Hockney.

Brilliant getaway

We arrived at Saltaire on a late spring afternoon. The sun was setting over the hills as we strolled along the river side ,watching people enjoying the park and beautiful landscape. Salt Mills is a lovely gallery with a large and wide collection of art works and books. The architecture of the building from the outside seems mundane but inside, it was unique and filled with modern designs. We ended our evening at Don't Tell Titus, a local bar/restaurant. People were friendly and food was amazing. Definitely going back there again!
