Lonely Planet review for Punchinello

Low-slung beamed ceilings distinguish this established central restaurant, the oldest in town, but it has moved with the times with a hint of the Mediterranean infusing most of its dishes.

    Oldest restaurant in Nottingham

    iwys recommends this,

Puncinello is the oldest restaurant in Nottingham. It is in a pretty, half-timbered building, which looks more like an inn than a restaurant. The interior decor is a bit shabby. Its location opposite the Royal Centre makes it a popular choice for a pre-theatre meal. I think the food here is overrated. I have eaten sirloin steak with french fries and swordfish with rocket salad here. Neither was particularly good.

People come here more for the olde worlde atmosphere than for the quality of the food.
