Derby Cathedral
Derby's grand 18th-century cathedral boasts a 64m-high tower and impressive wrought-iron screens. Large windows enhance the magnificent, light interior. Don't miss the huge tomb of Bess of Hardwick, one of Derbyshire's most formidable residents in days gone by, and watch out for peregrines - they're regularly spotted around the tower.

Derby Museum of Industry and History

Trainspotters will have a field day, while plane buffs should get a buzz out of displays on the development of the Rolls-Royce aero-engine.

Royal Crown Derby
The factory of Royal Crown Derby turns out some of the finest bone china in England. In the demonstration studio, you'll see workers skillfully making delicate china flowers, using little more than a hatpin, spoon handle and even a head-lice comb. There's also a shop (watch your elbows please).
