Slide onto a bar stool and inhale the tang of vinegar at this award winning chippy. There are pies and sausages aplenty, meal deals from £2 and roast chicken and chips from £3.50. You can wash it all down with a beer, too.

    Simply the best fish and chips in Britain

    mrkriss recommends this,

    Frying in beef dripping and cooking everything fresh, the GBE is a breath of vinegary fresh air. The classics are wonderful, but GBE excels in experimentation. The whitebait is fabulous, and the black pudding fritters are excellent. And the addition of being able to buy a refreshing Hogan's cider this is simple the best. Oh, and the staff are always cheerful and helpful.
