Hello, I'm traveling with my 12 year old son and 8 year old daughter in late July and was wondering how easy it would be to go from London to Dover, sightsee for 2-3 hours, then catch the Eurostar to Paris? If this is not too complicated, what is the best way to get from London to Dover. Currently I don't have any accommodations booked for London yet. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm from Singapore and I will be traveling to UK solo this coming summer, spending 9 days in London and 3 days in Edinburgh..

This is my first time to the UK and here's my London itinerary, any advices will be much appreciated, especially for a solo female traveller. Also, will there be any clash in any of the visits?

Thank you!

Day 1 (Sat): Touch down at LHR @ 5.50am. I will be staying near King's Cross. I hope to reach my hotel by 9am to deposit my luggages first.
Portobello market…

We are planning to go to the dockyard next week but it seems very pricey and much of it seems to be closed or under repair. Is it really worth the exorbitant entry fee? How long should we allow to see everything?

OK, I know I can get to Stonehenge from, say, Salisbury by public transportation, tour groups, etc. But let's just imagine I'd rather drive my own car. Nowhere in my travel book and website reading have I read that I really can drive there AND PARK there. Can I? Or is some form of public transport my only option?

Is the regular Oyster card that I could buy in London the same cost as the Visitor Oyster card that I could buy in advance? That is, is the fee to buy either one the same? And is the cost per ride the same regardless of which card I use?

I'll fly to Heathrow terminal 3 and take the tube to Kings Cross. Can I BUY an Oyster card at the tube station at Heathrow Terminal 3? I swear, everything I've read about Oyster cards says I can USE one to get to London from Heathrow but nowhere have I read…

I am going to cycle from the south English coast to London. Can cycling from Ramsgate to Canterbury to Rochester be nice? Afterwards I could go to the mouth of the Thames and enter London like that, which sounds like a good way.
Otherwise I could go from Hastings to Turnbridge Wells. What would that be like?

Dear travelers,

I've been about to buy an off-peak day return ticket from Brighton to London Victoria, since I want to have them on hand in advance, but on the other hand, don't know yet precise times of travel on that day, thinking that this type of ticket allows me to take any off-peak train between the two cities on a specific day.

But when I was about to pay, I noticed that even if stated that "Travel is allowed via any permitted route", the ticket also has timing information, in my case…
