Lonely Planet review for Primrose Café
Hidden away down a Clifton cul-de-sac, this sweet neighbourhood bistro is a passionate proselytiser for the Slow Food campaign. The blackboard menu is strong on Cornish fish and British game, and the streetside tables are ideal for sampling the Primrose's trademark cakes.

One of Clifton's secret gems
edhyde recommends this,
An incredibly popular little cafe / restaurant tucked away at the entrance to Boyce's Arcade in Clifton, Bristol. A cafe by day and a restaurant by night, this delightful place is invariably full of locals taking coffee, possibly one of the excellent brunch offerings, whilst chatting with friends either inside the small but very atmospheric interior, or at the tables outside. The food has always been great whenever I have been over the years since it opened and the fact that it is usually so full of locals says a lot for the food, atmosphere and service. Not super-cheap, but then this is Clifton, but always good value for money.
