  1. Lady Revisits Royal Ascot

    Blog: A Lady in London - 17 June 2011

It’s that time of year again. Time for horse races, time for Pimm’s, time for the queen to arrive in her carriage to the delight of the crowds. It’s time for Royal Ascot. It has been a year since I was last at Royal Ascot, and I was excited for the event. Even though my [...]

  2. Lady at Ascot for Racenight

    Blog: A Lady in London - 11 May 2011

One of the things I love about living in the UK is how much history there is here. For example, this year Ascot Racecourse—a British institution that will always have a significant meaning for me after winning the Face of Ascot competition my first year in London—is celebrating its 300th anniversary. I’m hard pressed to [...]

  3. Lady Returns to Royal Ascot

    Blog: A Lady in London - 22 June 2010

It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since my first trip to Royal Ascot. It doesn’t seem so long ago that my boyfriend and I went to Berkshire to watch the races and I got scouted for and then won the Face of Ascot 2009 modeling competition. It feels like such a short time [...]

  4. Rediscovering London and Windsor

    Blog: Away Together - 4 June 2010

Back in mid-April of 2007, I woke before sunrise in a hotel in the shadow of Windsor Castle and tiptoed out to run while Morgan and the kids slept. It was the final day of our family’s Spring Break trip to England. Having no clear idea of where I was headed, I found a trail [...] Related posts: The Cure for the Brighton Hangover

  6. Lady Lands the Prize

    Blog: A Lady in London - 26 April 2010

This week has been a very surreal one. After getting scouted for a modeling competition for the Face of Ascot on Tuesday and selected as a finalist on Thursday, I headed back to Royal Ascot on Saturday for the judging. The morning was filled with champagne receptions and meetings with the judges. In the afternoon we were taken to a photo shoot, a fashion show, and a lunch. We had time to watch some of the horse races before heading down to the catwalk area for the televised announcement of the winner. I was a little nervous, but mostly just freezing cold.

  7. Lady Returns

    Blog: A Lady in London - 26 April 2010

As part of my duties as The Face of Ascot racecourse, I returned for King George Day on Saturday for lunch and a photo shoot.I arrived mid-morning with my boyfriend and two of our friends and headed up to the Parade Ring Restaurant, where we were welcomed with a glass of champagne. A friendly hostess showed us to our table, which was preemptively furnished with four bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne. Not bad for eleven o’clock in the morning.

  8. Lady Goes to Ascot

    Blog: A Lady in London - 26 April 2010

My year as the Face of Ascot is quickly approaching its end. Last Saturday I made one final trip out to the racecourse before Royal Ascot in June.I arrived at Ascot just before noon with my boyfriend and two of our friends. The PR team was kind enough to invite us to lunch in the Ascot Authority Box, so my friends headed up the escalators while I met up with a press team from the BBC at the wine tasting room on the ground level.

  10. Lady and the New Face of Ascot

    Blog: A Lady in London - 1 February 2010

Saturday was my last day as the Face of Ascot 2009. While I was sad to give up my title, I was excited to meet the new contenders for the Face of Ascot 2010 title. I woke up early, put on my black Karen Millen dress with a big rose on one shoulder and my still-too-big-for-me Cleo B heels, and grabbed my black satin handbag. I was ready to go.
