Lady on a Day Tour
Blog: A Lady in London - 31 October 2011
On Friday I celebrated my four year anniversary of living in London. Throughout my time here, I have made an effort to see as much of the country as I can. One way I have gone about it is to take day trips from London to other parts of England. I always do so independently, [...]

Lady at a Wedding in Oxford
Blog: A Lady in London - 30 August 2011
It’s wedding season. This summer I have been invited to weddings in destinations as far flung as California, England, Indiana, and Washington. To that end, I traveled west on Friday to attend the nuptials of two good friends at their wedding in Oxford. I arrived in town at noon and checked into my hotel, the Malmaison, [...]

We only had two half-days in Oxford, and Oxford is a town that really deserves at least a few days if you are visiting. So rather than ticking off a list of ‘top-ten must dos in Oxford’ our trip was … Continue reading →

On Thursday Willem and I headed up to Oxford for a short visit – a friend was visiting from Australia and invited us for afternoon tea at the Randolph. Since the Ashmolean Museum is just over the road from the … Continue reading →

Lady in Oxford
Blog: A Lady in London - 1 February 2010
Yesterday I went to Oxford for the day to visit a friend that is studying there. It was my second trip to Oxford to visit her (the last one being in the midst of a terrible snowstorm in 2003), so we had time to enjoy the town without feeling pressured to see and do everything.

Lady Goes Punting
Blog: A Lady in London - 1 February 2010
It's graduation season. A few weeks ago I went back to Brown for my five year reunion, which took place on the same weekend as graduation. The following day my cousin graduated from Yale with a master's degree. This weekend it was my good friend's turn to graduate. She invited me and my mother, who is visiting from San Francisco, to attend the ceremony at Oxford.

Oxford: Does it get more “English” than this?!?
Blog: 12FOOT3 - 12 October 2009
After 10 days in London, we rented a car to explore the English and Welsh countryside. First stop: Oxford, where our friends Nas and Jen (who we know through Grace and Susan), agreed to host us for the evening, which was very generous, considering they have a (very cute) 9-month-old (Nya) to run around after! I’m [...]

Oxford – May Bank Holiday
Blog: MatthewGain.com - 5 May 2008
Elizabeth and I jumped on the Oxford Tube today to visit Oxford. I had never been before, and having now a few friends who attended the uni, we figured this would be the perfect bank holiday excursion. We left London smiling, enjoying the sun and thanking whoever it was that had finally arranged for the summer to arrive. A little over an hour later the good old English weather was punishing us for our foolish naivety as we trudged the rain swept and rather cool streets in shorts and t-shirts. Thankfully it did warm up later.
