Chilled out, clued-in and serving a superb selection of Mediterranean food, Café Coco is a Cowley Rd institution, as popular for Sunday brunch as late-night cocktails. It's a sort of hip, bohemian hang-out, with classic posters on the walls and a bald clown in an ice-bath.

    Gorgeous food, fab service and worth the parking nightmare!

    I used to go here when I worked on the Cowley Road most days and recently returned with a baby having given up work and I have to say they have the friendliest staff in any restaurant I've tried in the city. They didn't bat an eyelid when the baby threw sugar on the floor, any more than they used to mind us getting loud when we went out as a crowd after work. The food is excellent and served in good time. Parking is of course a nightmare (go on the bus) but that's Oxford for you!
