This 16th-century coaching inn is in the nearby village of Hurley, and the deceptively simple dishes, such as mussels mariniere and pancetta-wrapped venison, cooked with passion, are worth the trip. There’s an extensive range of fine French wines to choose from, too. The pub is about 4 miles east of Henley just off the A4130.
